This interactive course trains the critical fundamentals of personal finance across the spectrum of debt and investments. Participants are empowered to set goals and apply risk management techniques. Groups work collaboratively to analyze approaches to achieve financial independence while managing identity and credit risk. Both tax preparation and health insurance are explored to support sustainable working knowledge.

Financial Services
(Too Big to Fail)

This case study leads off with an interactive role play in teams of 5 to 7 participants. Teams represent financial services CEO’s in 2008, who are brought together to examine how to save Lehman Brothers. Teams are challenged with changes, twists, and availability bias, as they fight the clock to determine the best course of action. Final solutions are read to the Press (other participants), who challenge with questions.

Capital Markets

This course takes a broad view on Capital Markets and integrates leading and lagging economic indicators. Various financial products are analyzed to facilitate an awareness of market complexities and how those complexities meet client needs. Participants work in teams to see the integration and differentiation of various products in an investment portfolio.

Mutual Funds

This course overviews the systemic nature of global economies and how they interact. Participants will learn basic concepts like; inflation, unemployment, and GDP. The course covers the source of economic data and the calendar of leading and lagging indicators to analyze the relationship across capital markets.

Macroeconomics

This course provides a deep understanding of fund types, strategies, and risk levels. Sample funds are analyzed to connect the relationship between fund type, holdings, investment strategy, risk level, client engagement, and marketing.
