Meet Katie

Katie Weatherford is a triple threat stage performer, who acts, sings, and dances professionally. Throughout her 20-year theatre career, Katie has also worked as a producer,  director, playwright, and choreographer. She currently serves as Co-Artistic Director of Greenwood Lake Theater, which she co-founded in 2016 in the Hudson Valley. In addition to the stage, Katie has experience in film and television, including more than 40 appearances as a guest historian on the Travel Channel. Katie holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The New School, in New York City, where she currently resides.

Over the past seven years with The Melini Group, Katie has been an instructor, facilitator, and speaker coach. She has worked with corporate clients throughout the world to elevate public speaking impact. Katie has coached over 50 TEDx speakers from idea to delivery. She has written and facilitated multiple exercises in professional skills courses focused on communication and teaming. For the last three years, Katie has been one of The Melini Group’s lead instructors for our ‘Influence through Storytelling Principles’ course.

In her coaching, Katie takes a focus on enabling speakers to deliver clear and influential messaging. She makes it a point to tailor delivery style to the potential of each speaker and the tone of the content. Katie specializes in managing performance anxiety, vocal production, and emotional authenticity. She works with clients who are preparing delivery for live, large-group settings such as town halls, conferences, or livestream video.

In her personal life, Katie is an avid runner, amateur chef, and dog lover. She holds an uncanny amount of historical knowledge about New York City.

It isn't about 'natural ability,' it is about creating the right toolkit for your individual voice, so that your beliefs and ideas can be shared in the most effective way possible.

Influence through Storytelling Principles

This intensive workshop teaches advanced storytelling principles to develop skills in dialogue to drive influence under pressure. Participants work through a 7-step development method, refining their style under pressure. Participants will master context, tension, suspense, and possibility while learning to connect with audiences across various platforms. The course covers purpose-setting, storyboarding, rehearsing, and handling objections, helping participants sharpen their influence and authentic delivery. Read More >>
